What song are you listening to right now?

(Sadly not me, but hey his books seem interesting. If only i had the concentration left to read books)

Chilling with nujabes now

So I just found out that Kate Bush is Bi.

Bi-lingual.

A song about a male who seduces a older woman....hmnn. Possible a underage male... :fearful:...uuhhh. Kate you are so controversial. But Such a talent.

English Version:

I must admit...Kate Bush sat on your lap is a banger. I like the way she opens up the album.

There goes a tenner*.... Kinda going off the tracks... but she returns to form...in the next one

(Maybe She's talkin about the people who bought the album and wonder what he hell they purchased?...)

...ghostly...great production...chilling...solemn...

Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill
A song about male and female dynamics. A kid of 'trading places' deal. (You know the movie with Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd.) Empathize with the other point of view. By role reversal. Which is actually a therapeutic technique.

Of course one layer, can be taken on a sexual level...and that what immediately sprung to mind..lol

The opening line:

"It doesn't hurt me
Do you want to feel how it feels?"

No not particularly Kate.

And the..

"Come on, come on, darling
Let's exchange the experience,"

uhh...no thanks. lol.
What experience would that be now?
....You want to do what? :flushed:
:worried:

But that aside....the running up the hill part. Speaks of exhaustion, and the song has a desperate tone to it.

Also could be taken as somebody she loves is dying, and she would make a deal with god (kate) to take the dying one's place. Or even jealousy, male loves another woman, and (kate) would make a deal to take that woman's place. It's open to so many variations, thats what good about her songs. The mystery.

This has a faustian tone, but instead of deal with the devil. Ever sweet and pure Kate, has chose the other road. But as Jim Morrison said, you cannot petition the lord with prayer!"

"But see how deep the bullet lies
Unaware I'm tearing you asunder "

these speaks of two dysfunction people, both 'wounded' internally. Bullet being a metaphor for trauma. There's a bullet lodged in them. There are some people who walk around with bullets unaware they were shot. Try to remove a bullet can cause more damage, bleeding, would be more dangerous, than leaving it alone. (That's what some doctors recommend, especially if it's lodged near a vital organ, artery.)

In her live performances, I've noticed ,a t the end, she has the bow and arrow. Cupids arrow? the tension on the arrow, is a metaphor , and symbol, also a described by Nietzsche. Dealing with western civilization; and incidentally, by implication, the tension between male and female values embedded in that society. Switch bullet for arrow;

"But see how deep the arrow lies
Unaware I'm tearing you asunder "

Okay no more song interpretations...lol...you can analyze these things to death.

Also back to the....gigitty..
(Kate) post deal with god is now the seeing things from the male POV: "Unaware I'm tearing you asunder "...of course on this level, the bullet/arrow that has penetrated...is...well...it's not hard to imagine.

I found a Capitol radio show from 1982. Great insight into the demos and evolution of "Babooshka" and "Sat In Your Lap. Great to hear the process. Very Rare.

Cause sometimes you want to slow it down so you can take it all in, and enjoy it more fully.

"I want to be a lawyer
I want to be a scholar
But I really can't be bothered
Ooh, just give it quick, gimme it, gimme gimme gimme gimme!"

Ah yes delayed gratification and impulse control....

"I must admit, just when I think I'm king"

Ah yes,I'm reminded of the 'the man who would be king'....that was Sean Connery movie. I wonder if she watched that. Great delivery...the movie has esoteric meaning. I love her over the top delivery.

"Some say that heaven is hell
Some say that hell is heaven"

White is black, Black is white.

"Give me the karma, mama!
I'm coming up the ladder"

Ah yes. I interpret it as 'Jacob's Ladder.'
" ladder leading to heaven that was featured in a dream the biblical Patriarch Jacob had during his flight from his brother Esau in the Book of Genesis."

The reference to Karma, clearly Indian. Which leads to Kundalini. A kind of ladder also. I believe it's the eastern conceptual equivalent.

The video is even more dense. Laden with symbology. Minotaurs. Jesters. There's also a water portal she walks towards. Seem like surf footage they fx'd up. That is also a esoteric symbol.

Kate Bush at Abbey Road Studios

"My cup, she never overfloweth"

A term derived from:
"Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. – Psalm 23:5 "

About how book knowledge, scholary learning, "In my dome of ivory " is no substitute for spiritual development. "I hold a cup of wisdom
But there is nothing within" Which cannot be learnt from books.

I can break this song down all day...it's one of her best. I think so.
lol..I said I wasn't gonna analyse her songs. But these are things that stand out, to me. Maybe not to others. Does this come into their conscious awareness.

Nietzshe also used this phrase in his biblical-styled book; Thus Spake Zarathrusta.

"Bless me, then, thou tranquil eye, that canst behold even the greatest happiness without envy!

Bless the cup that is about to overflow, that the water may flow golden out of it, and carry everywhere the reflection of thy bliss!

Lo! This cup is again going to empty itself, and Zarathustra is again going to be a man.

Thus began Zarathustra's down-going."

I'll stop now...lol. Yeah...the cup is; nirvana.
