What was the last movie you watched?

"Divergent"

Another dystopian future where a young person defiantly stands out in the crowd.

Yawn. I like the genre, but just felt this one was lacking.
I liked that one even though I hate the genre, strange. The second one was pretty bad and I didn't bother with the third. I read they're now thinking about making the final movie as a straight to tv picture because the last one bombed hard, with a tv series set in the same universe to follow. If a franchise isn't making money I don't see any logic in trying to drag it out with a tv show but this is Hollywood we're talking about.

Anyway, the last movie I saw was The Nice Guys. 8/10 really funny but not as good as Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. If you enjoy Shane Black's other films you'll still love this.

The BFG 7.5/10.

Good retelling of the Roald Dahl classic.

I just watched an 80s classic on DVD, He Man and She Ra: Secret of the Sword, I went to see it when it first came on the big screen in the mid 80s, then a few years back I bought the DVD.

As I write I'm watching another 80s classic, The Dark Crystal, created by Jim Henson way back in 1982.

I have He man and She ra:the secret of the sword on DVD and I have the dark crystal on blu ray,I also have a collector doll of Jen and recently bought a pop vinyl figure of Kira.

Spirited Away because I was on a long plane flight, happened to have the DVD in my carry-on, was bored, and couldn't get any of the in-flight movies to load on my laptop. Not that that's a bad thing...it happens to be one of the best movies I've ever seen, and it's always worth re-watching.

"I, Frankenstein". What a stinker. Sort of a badly done rip-off of the "Underworld" series.

The monster had no real moral conscience. Why would he intervene in a protracted conflict between demons and gargoyles? o_O

Jason Bourne. Still not sure what to think of it, the story was lacking and the first half was basically a bunch of short random scenes thrown together. The action was decent.

Pete's Dragon (2016 remake) 7.5/10.

I watched this last week then I went on Amazon and bought the original on DVD, which I haven't had chance to watch yet.

"Harley and the Davidsons"

Nope, it's not a musical. It's a Discovery Channel three-part miniseries about how Bill Harley, Arthur and Walter Davidson built their first motorized bicycle. And how it grew into something else on a much grander scale.

Worth seeing for us techno-history geeks.

I have not seen it yet, but I have it recorded. We will probably watch it Saturday night. While the BSU football game is recording. Which we will watch Sunday morning. Because the game does not end until after midnight. Thanks to the sports Nazis, ESPN.

Maybe I should have put this in the "Things that annoy you." thread.

I'm guessing this one might be on video-on-demand. Which if the case, you can watch it any time.

Boise State. The nemesis of the Wolf Pack. ;)

I am still mad about that missed field goal in Reno. I think that was in 2008. That cost us a undefeated season and another Fiesta Bowl.

It was 2010. 34 to 31.

I remember because so many Boise State fans showed up at the Eldorado Casino for a nice Thanksgiving dinner.

TT: Closer to the Edge. A documentary starring Guy Martin about the famous and incredibly deadly
Isle of Man TT motorcycle races. 9/10, gripping, funny and shocking.

Rush, a 2013 Forumla 1 movie focusing on the rivalry between James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl). 7/10.

X-Men Apocalypse... and it was awful. So, so bad. 4/10 at best and only because of the Quicksilver segment. Loved First Class, didn't like Days of Future Past (outside of the Quicksilver segment), and absolutely couldn't stand this one. Bad story, bad screenwriting (2 scenes with the exact same exposition in a row, among other things) some cheap looking make up and for the most part, AWFUL CGI. How can a $178 million look so bad?

5 superhero movies so far this year and 4 of them weren't even worth watching. The only "standout" is Captain America: Civil War and even that was nothing more than ok. I'm in no rush to see it again.

On Netflix there is "Saudi Arabia Uncovered". Very graphic in places. Undercover "reality" film about life in S.A., they even manage to visit the infamous "Chop,Chop" Square. I learned some things.

Found it and started watching it. Like it so far ;)
