Why don’t I want to do anything?

Also with you on starting things. I know when i finish the task i will feel good, and find it was not difficult at all. This does not change the absolute feeling of dread before i start a task.
I'm like, "You're being ridiculous. If you spent as much time doing this task as you are spending on avoiding it, you could have done it twice already."

Telling myself that only helps sometimes.

I use the reward system haha. When i finish the task i get to watch a tv show or blog! Also setting alarms help.

Me: "When you have done the task, you can have a cookie."
Also me: "The cookies are in the kitchen. And they are my cookies. I can have one any time I like."
Me: "..."
Me: "I think I need to consider this some more..."

😁

But I find that putting things on the to-do list does make me more likely to do the things - not only because I don't forget them, but because having them sitting there on the list is more annoying than doing them and then crossing them off. And crossing them off always feels good (sometimes I even write stuff I've done on the list just so I can cross it off immediately and feel all productive).
This is so delightfully recognizable 😂

I was wondering Starflower87 how the housework and cleaning are now for you. I hope things are a bit easier to manage. I do not remember if you wrote how big the property is where you live, one bedroom etc?
On Saturday I did attempt to do some cleaning and I did, but I had to stop it as I needed to rest and I did so. Today on Monday I did the rest of the chores that I needed to do.

So far all I feel up to is doing laundry and taking out the garbage

I have no idea how you make use of your time, but say if you was getting in after a run and spending the rest of the day online pretty much could you try and switch it of for a while to see if you might get on with other things. You may need the best part of a day to try it.

There are times we will find it difficult to motivate ourselves for a variety of things. However, with me sometimes I have had to ignore myself and say things to myself rarely like you will not die if you do this task and then proceed to get up and do it. I don't say it often to myself but I have used it and it worked and I glad after usually.

I would do the miniuim may be span it ovrer days. I did think as I like having it a routine with it and, I don't if you have AHDH or other issues beyond autism as well.

Consider may be getting someone in for a while and speak to someone in your real life for words of encouragement if you don't. As I wrote before I used to have cleaners come in and my country it can done for less than. £30 an hour. I don't know how your place is but after two weeks I would think most places need a bit of cleaning.

I don't know what flooring you have at home, carpet/wood or something else if some people know they can say what they use.

I have wood in my flat and in the bathroom and kitchen lino.

I have a hoover and every now do try and use it. I don't always though. I will though sweep my bedroom daily and kitchen as well. Once a week I will try and clean my flat and usually do. I set a day aside for this.

I have a vileda bucket and mop and and after sweeping my flat with an indoor broom mop my flat and use some liquid dettol in the bucket which you buy from Amazon or wherever.

I also buy Big and strong Dettol Kitchen wipes. They come in a red pack in the UK of 25. What I like about using this and stick to now is they are the biggest strongest wipes I have used and seen and use them in my whole flat and on the wooden floor as well. When I do use them on the wooden floor I cover a lot of space at one time and when I get started sometimes it can almost feel quite therapeutic. For me who has issues moving sometimes and holding heavy things being on the ground does help as well I think this is good for the major muscles as well. Sometimes I might apply a bit of Multipurpose Dettol Spray with bleach to the wipe especially in the kitchen. I like and need the bleach in it I also use them on tablets etc.

Stuff get washed in the laundry usually once or twice a week. As I said before bedding is dusted down everyday and changed when I do.

I clean my microwave and hobs once a week with wipes as well.

It can be done in about 1hr 30,

This is what I use-

I used to be good at keeping my place clean before independent living support. They are supposed to help with cleaning but I don’t like how they cook and clean so I try to do it myself. Since it’s still winter I think this could be effecting my motivation. I was like this last winter as well then I got better in spring. Also I find independent living support burns me out. I have four days a week with a worker and this can go from 3 to 4 hours a day with them. Mostly we have just been delivering paperwork, grocery runs and eating at restaurants. The rest of the hours we sit and talk. I find since it’s almost a week I get burnt out. I do my cooking at home and I’ve eaten at home all weekend.

This weekend all I’ve had energy for is cooking, taking out the garbage, laundry and changing my bedding.

Been thinking about getting a swiffer sweeper to make doing floors easier. But they are expensive.

Also, my medication makes me groggy and hard to focus so maybe take it after I clean?
