Yes! I have become quite adept at thrifting things that people have no comprehension of the real value of.

The biggest howler I've seen made was on a car jack on Ebay. It was £50. I spent the next couple of days worrying that they would realise their error but no, it arrived. The error? One sold the week before for £500... this jack is actually from a 1930s Rolls Royce car toolkit.
    One very rotten windowsill....

the future is cheap electricity from renewable energy, maybe fusion reactors and hydrogen. everybody will maybe heat with cheap electricity then and not with gas, oil or WOOD :persevere: same goes for stinky cars.

edit: there is no "puke" smiley

If the wood isn't thoroughly dry you'll get smog. Most of ours sits in a shed sometimes for a couple of years. There's just a faint haze out the chimney.
Having a day on the laptop because a new window is being installed so my normal PC cannot be used. The window frame was even more rotten than was thought.

Strangely my laptop is on Wind'ohs 11. It doesn't run very well, not as well as it did on 10. Builders are having great fun fitting the physical window because the aperture is a long way out of square. Currently they're trying to grind the high spots off and moaning about the prehistoric saw they've borrowed from us.

don´t you know that only every 2nd windows is good and the other one is not really good?

windows xp was good, windows 7, windows 10
windows vista was bad, windows 8 and windows 11

so always wait at least until the next windows. I only used the one above and not the one on the bottom.

One of two new windows is in. The next will be a two day job because the old was bodged into place and the surrounding brickwork is awful.
Feel relief and sadness right now. This is the time of year when Dog V3 would spend hours cowering in terror because he didn't like fireworks. Nearly every night of the fortnight around the 5th of November they would start and he would start shaking in fear. It doesn't bother Dog V4 at all.

Ruby used to go nuts over fireworks, not fear but excitement. She'd run around in circles and chase her tail and bark. She also used to like chasing the little bats that come out late at night, jumping up in the air trying to catch them.

All it needs is someone to watch the machine to ensure all bottles are clean. They are unlikely to do that. When the milk is OK it tastes way better than that from the plastic containers. I really don't like the taste of plastic.

I am still curious. Is the milk: raw or pasteurized or homogenized?

    Pasteurised.
I'd just finished typing 'Spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans and spam' to report a spammer but the mods deleted it before I could finish the report :(
Dog V4 is feeling better after his visit to the animal chiropractor. His back was way out so no wonder he didn't want to jump up anywhere.
Just been throwing a ball for Dog V4 up the field. I keep trying to trick him; I put the flinger behind my back with the intention of throwing over my shoulder. I hit myself in the back of the head instead!

I hope it didn't hurt too much! I'm sure Dog V4 thought it was funny though, lol

It's one of those things that happen. One time with Dog V3 I had a 'miss-throw'. The ball landed by Mum and Dog V3 ran at her at canine Mach 6. Only in the last few feet did he realise his brakes wouldn't stop him. He tried to jump over Mum and knocked her over! Mum wasn't happy for some inexplicable reason....
Well, the Volvo disgraced itself on the test drive by breaking down. Cause? Out of fuel. The fuel gauge hasn't worked in twenty years because the sensor and pump are one expensive unit. This means it always shows nearly full....

According to the internet there are only 60 of this model/year left. A good reason to keep this one going!

That's going to be an awesome car when it's all finally tuned up, though.

Yep. Very distinctive noise it makes when cranking. You can hear it in the house yet it's modern diesel 'brother' brought to replace it (unsuccessfully!) cannot be heard. Just some little jobs to think about like the seized tail gate lock and dead fuel gauge that might get done at some point.
Old video but . So many lunatics in need of hugs.

One of my little issues with people who go out and get a puppy is sometimes they go from 'awww, he/she's so cute' to putting the poor thing into rescue because they can't cope with the canine equivalent of the 'terrible twos'. Patience and training (plus bribery if it's an EBT) gives you a well trained bed hog!

I hate when people do that!!! I have had some extremely challenging dogs and that thought has never once crossed my mind. A dog is a lifetime commitment.

Personally... I never get beyond the 'awww' stage. Early pic of Dog V4. A scared, confused animal that would not put the toy down nor give it up. It just takes a little work to form the bond.
