  • I have a new inverter for the 120vAC plugs in my house, a 1000w Renogy. Renogy is really among the best brands in the US for solar equipment.
FINALLY back in Jefferson after having to spend four days in Sacramento so I could get my dentures fixed and my home lithium battery properly recharged. Then the day after driving home from Sacramento I had to go retrieve my Cummins generator in Eugene, Ore., about 225 miles north.

The only thing wrong with it was that the oil was too low. I have constantly had problems getting the oil level right. The tech at Cummins authorized repair center showed me how to fill it correctly.
wishes that I could still find cool gif memes on Craigslist. All that is there now is horrible political stuff.
is living with only a single small LED lantern for light until I can get my house battery running. Turns out the battery distributor no longer offers charging services, so I will use my grandfather's 1940s era industrial grade charger.
I've been off for a few days bc my lithium house battery died and my main generator is in Eugene, Ore., being serviced. My mom finally sent me money for a cheap stopgap generator. I will have to take the battery to the distributor in Reno for a proper recharge/renewal.
My generator quit, likely because it needs a fuel filter. Unfortunately, replacing it can only be done by qualified Cummins service personnel. So I have to take it to the heavy equipment dealer in Medford and talk them into looking at it.
My printer is already out of ink. That stuff is really hard to find in the type I need and it is super expensive when I do find it.
I had an intense dream last night where the reptilians went on national TV and admitted that all the conspiracy theories were true. When I woke up my entire body was tense and it took 15min to relax. Very weird.

Isn't it wonderful how our subconscious is an awesome producer of horror and bad plots. And we don't have the remote control to change the channel.

Reptilians - I hate those guys!
unplugged my shortwave ham radio antennas due to thunderstorms in the area. It just started to rain but no thunder/lightning seems to be accompanying it.
is concerned that in a couple years there might be serious shortages of food and other goods. At least I will be able to garden and forage, which means I will be better off than city dwellers.
is angry that a locust infestation meant that I could not plant a garden this year. At least I can still forage for acorns and wild berries.
I was talking with my mom on voice phone yesterday (3 August) and suddenly the siren sound went off on my damaged inverter. My mom then said I had her permission to go to Medford that day and use the joint credit card to replace it. So I did. No more sirens at random times, yay.
I have to buy a new small inverter, it runs the general AC plug system in my tiny house for little stuff like alarm clock and cell phone signal amplifier and laptop. Mom says "you broke it, you pay to replace it". So I have to wait a couple weeks for my new credit card statement period to start.

Get a battery alarm clock as they're not that hard to keep going. You don't need to make 110vAC to run a clock when clocks run on 1.5-9vDC easily.

For my bedside clock I use a LED clock so I can see it in the dark. I tried battery ones, they eat batteries incredibly fast. When I first moved out here I had a clock from Ikea, and one night it drained to zero while I slept. I woke up in the morning with a nice Swedish brick next to my bed. Lithium batteries don't change the equation either.
The siren on my small inverter has been going on and off (no cut of power though, so no real overload) ever since I tried turning my laptop and desk fan on at the same time. I have a telehealth appointment with my psychiatrist on Tuesday and if it does this at that time I will be ANGRY!
My small inverter might be damaged from running fans on it. Stuff it once accepted now gets a screaming siren overload warning. I put the fans on the big inverter to stop the damage, but that horse may have left a long time ago. I don't have the money to replace it, so I just have to play musical chairs with my stuff til it shuts up.

When the giant Park Fire near Chico, California, first blew up, a remote camera was one of the first things in its way. This is the final image the camera took before the fire incinerated it. I'm thinking that something like this will be the last thing I myself see before burning to death in a wildfire. I just hope that the view won't last longer, like an eternity.
My Hammarlund HQ-110A radio can attract a real ham at times.

He is holding down the fort while the cow grazes. I call him Ham Marlund. I have several pig plushies around my "shack" or radio operating setup, because ham radio needs some real hams.
Flies like to fly into my house whenever I open the door, then they won't fly out. So they fly around and around, and any screen light attracts them, so it's buzzbuzzbuzz whenever I am online, phone or laptop. One is spinning around my head right now and won't stop.

At my aunt's place there are a lot of flies going in through the doors because they're always open and they can't go and won't go out. My uncle tries to smack them but is very unsuccessful, they're so annoying, their little wings are very effective.

One day I saw one squat and stick a clear liquid on the table, I wonder if it was eggs because fly poop is dark colored. Maybe I shouldn't of looked, it's just incredible.

Maybe they should make plug in defense for flies like they make for mosquitoes. I have a lot of itchy mosquito bites as they haven't put up any.
So glad I live in a place where every woman either has a partner or has a very good reason not to. It helps bring me back to reality whenever I get wistful. Dating apps only work in ginormous cities anyway.
