How old were you when you first spoke?

I started talking on schedule, then went almost silent from 12-15 months, then skipped to complex sentences with at least one dependent claise.

    Can't sleep, dentist'll eat me.

I'm impressed by your oral health! I am indeed stuck going because one of my front teeth fell out and the rest of them suck in general but I've definitely employed your strategy before.

    Can't sleep, dentist'll eat me.

A good call. I did end up telling him about it, and I'll probably need a combination of facings and crowns.

    Can't sleep, dentist'll eat me.

Thanks guys! I went today and it was fine. I have a bunch more of them ahead of me, but I'm going to go back and read this thread beforehand and it'll make me feel better. :)

    Can't sleep, dentist'll eat me.

I have a dentist's appointment in 6.5 hours and I'm terrified of the dentist in general, but also my teeth are in really bad shape and I'm going to need a lot of work done so I'm also scared because of how much it's probably going to cost and of the recovery process. My parents are helping me...

BULLIED BY TEENAGE GIRL AT WORK

I strongly agree with Fitzo about what to say to your boss. I had a situation where a person much younger than me was leading a bullying campaign against me and that kind of language was what got them to at least stop sabatoging my work and holding me to different standards than themselves. As...

Does anyone else feel like they should just not be on Facebook?

I check for events, but am genuinely happier off FB than on.

Ever Have to Deal with Office Politics?

I've been in this situation before and you're already doing the hard part, which is trying to resolve the situation, so remember you're doing the right thing even when you're down or feeling like you're making a big deal over nothing. Stimming in your office is actually a good idea, as is any...

How do you confront an Aspie?

Definitely agree with everyone saying to be direct. Say exactly what you mean. Have a good idea of what you want from him and be able to explain it. Additionally, when people stay calm and say things to assure me that my reactions don't make me a bad person, because often I'm trying really hard...

    Autism and food

I literally can't stop eating blueberries. I'll eat a 5lb box without noticing and spend the next two days curled up in a ball. As a result I only eat them twice a year when they're in season and I can u-pick. Damn delicious blueberries.

    Autism and food

I do every few years, and have for my entire life. For a year when I was a kid, I couldn't tolerate salty flavors, and my mom had to take my food out before she salted it for the rest of the family, but a couple of years later I became a salt fiend. I mentioned a couple of examples above too...

    The costs of camouflaging autism

I definitely relate to this. I spent most of my life trying to figure out what was wrong with me and fix it, but even when autism finally occurred to me in my 20s as a thing I could have, most of the information back then said that women could have autistic symptoms but not autism/Asperger's so...

    Autism and food

I've always had weird food stuff and it isn't consistient throughout my life either, it changes around every few years. Like I used to love pate and now it makes me nauseous, but I'm super super into pickles right now which I used to hate. I have a rotating cast of foods I can eat.

    Autism and Thyroid Issues

I was tested for it but didn't have it.

    I'm tired of feeling things

Yeah, I hear that. When I was younger I found it comforting to just shut down, but now that I'm in my 30s, it feels empty and avoidant and bad. I used to be better at at calming myself down. It was comforting to find out other aspies have this problem because I thought for a long time that it...

    I'm tired of feeling things

You're right that walking helps and that I probably have something blocked up. My ability to take walks in winter is reduced by torrential rain and I definitely feel more depressed in the winter. My goal after I find employment is to move out of the city so I can be closer to nature where the...

    I'm tired of feeling things

I feel everything and nothing at the same time. Its a confusing exhausting vortex that I need a break from and I barely do anything. I wish I could just feel neutral and ok with it for a few minutes.

    Executive dysfunction

I have the same problem, and issues getting organized too because making a list is another thing that taxes my executive functions. I have to throughly consider every item that goes on the list, and the order they go in, and check multiple times to make sure the list is complete, and then when I...

    Need advice immediately!

I'll chime in with the others here and say chill out and get him back his shirts while tapering off contact. Just tell him you're busy when he asks to hang out and be firm but respectful. If he escalates in any way, you can report him to the police.
