Just a thought for @Forest Cat - I hope you haven't been too adversely affected by the floods. I've been watching the news and thinking of you.
The biggest local river rose 2 meters/6.5 feet in a couple days! A lot of water. But there are dikes along side that river and I have seen worse, it's not really very unusual and I live on top of a hill so it has to rise 200 meters to get to me. I don't think it will do that.
Eh. My dad and I were using a spare unplugged fridge to store spices and plastic bags.
