Many large non-living things might satisfy that riddle,
What are they?

Buildings, houses, the sky, trees (though trees are living and can grow), etc..

Hint: What do a tree, a house, and a concrete barrier have in common ?
 
The examples I gave would tend to be heavy but there are heavy things that do go up and/or down and/or turn around.
