There's at least half a dozen different types that I know of. The only one that comes back was a ceremonial boomerang used in ritual dances. There are two main types, one heavier and more straight that was used for hunting and warfare, and the lighter and more curved that can go clockwise or counterclockwise depending if for left or right handed.
Informative. I meant two general types, the ones that are returnable and not returnable. But yes, many shapes and sizes, and with a variety of functions and purposes. There's at least half a dozen different types that I know of. There was a small one that makes a whistling whirring sound as it flies, they'd skim that over the top of tall grass. The noise would scare the birds in to flight and it would hit a few on it's way through. There were several different sizes and weights for other types of game, and then there was the one they used in warfare. That one has a large knob on one end the size of a small coconut and it flies dead straight and completely silently.
