Riddles

(1) If one was standing in deep water, the rest of the world could be seen as above you.
But water isn't necessary, there are other things that could fit the same.
(2). Moisture (water) causes bad weather.
Yes, as part of a complex interaction of many factors, so no more than say temperature (less in fact).
(4) "won't hold water" is a common phrase
Ok, that's true, a definite maybe but not the answer...

And too tangible, too physical for actual answer.
Anyway, what was wrong with clue #3 then? I was rather pleased with that one! (well someone has to be pleased with it, and since no-one else was volunteering ... 😏)

Air/wind? (Never mind. Not tangible).
Just in case I've been unclear - when I say non-tangible I mean the answer isn't a solid thing you manipulate in your hands (or similar). Although because there are multiple meanings of the answer this could have a little variation, but in essence it's more conceptual than physical though has physical presence.

For example a cave has physical presence but is intangible in that it's more an expression of the rock in which it resides.

With your latest tip about me being sort of on the right track, and from some tips you gave, I am thinking: canyon. That may solve line 1 and 2. And drift, shifting or erosion may be involved with canyons in some ways, to satisfy 3. As for line 4, well it is expensive visiting The Grand Canyon. So, the riddle was solved. Not!

Edit: Or maybe I should go deeper: the crust, the mantle, the inner core and outer core. And you said to not think deep :)

Remember, each line of the riddle stands alone and has no relationship with any other!
In fact, trying to connect them may make things harder! Only the actual word(s) of the answer will satisfy all four lines, the meaning of that word will differ

My final guess is each is a riddle line, as you had an answer of riddle before I think. Or maybe it could be a different tricky answer where each line is "I do not know." So, I give up and will wait for the answer.

Feelings, emotions, thoughts or personification.
No, sorry, getting colder now.

This was what I said, each line is a riddle in itself, it stands alone from the other lines, don't cross reference them!
And "I do not know" is the wrong answer! 😊

Nope, sorry, you're going to hate me (even more! 😉)

A depression!

Stand in me and the world's uplifted, (a depression in the ground)
I seem to attract bad weather. (a meteorological depression)
Unfortunately happiness has drifted, (a mental depression)
And budgets won't hold together. (a financial depression)

I gave you a gold star for you coming up with the answer when nobody else could :) it makes sense now. No qualms with that.

Thank you! I'm glad it made sense in the end, even if a bit sneaky in some ways, but I honestly though you'd get it really quickly! Ah, the vagaries of the human mind, and mine too! 🙃
Sorry, but I haven't another right now, so feel free ...

You were close in a couple parts, but to have said much more would have given it away.

Thanks. When you gave the last two lines as a bonus, that is where I messed up, as I would not have guessed right otherwise . That "sad" word seemed off by you as stressed was more fitting for my feeling then :), and I was thinking that sad word this was a big hint. I was just too lazy to think of a certain synonym feeling based on that word that would tie into the four lines. Anyway, nicely done! Will think of another later tonight or tomorrow morning. If anyone else wants to do before me, go ahead.

The last two lines of clue was only to put the idea of sadness into your mind to try and trigger flashing on to the answer. I felt sure if you had the word in your mind you'd have quickly sussed it fitted.

I'm not very good at putting myself in another's place, sorry if it was misdirecting.
