Riddles

I guess that would sufficiently satisfy the criteria though not what I had in mind.

It does have to do with the ear.

Should I go ahead and give the answer for the current riddle ? It probably wasn't a very good one this time seeing as how there have been other answers that could fit the requirements well enough.

Yes feel free to give the answer, as it may be hard to give the precise answer from seeing the guesses so far which could have somewhat fit, but was not the exact expected answer you were looking for.

I was thinking of the ear drum.

To all who guessed an answer that would have fit the criteria. 🏆

I'm still not sure how a drum helps keep bugs away.
Trust me in this, it doesn't. Beetles are the worst because they try to burrow their way out and the pain is extreme. Someone told me to try and flush my ear with warm water - never ever do that, water sends the insect in to panic and it starts digging faster. Fill your ear hole with oil to pacify and kill the insect.

Dammit I feel so stupid now when I hear the answer haha
Why?
I'm still not sure how a drum helps keep bugs away. Are you thinking a drum of bug spray/insecticide? Otherwise I am drawing a blank this morning.

I don't know about beetles in particular. You mention digging so perhaps they dig through it. Generally speaking the ear drum prevents insects from going even deeper in and doing real lasting harm.

I make small things seem more big;
But their details I'll not falsify nor rig.
Of few and simple things am I comprised;
So look through me and be surprised.
What am I ?
