What was the last movie you watched?

"The Caine Mutiny"

One of Humphrey Bogart's best roles, as a seemingly paranoid captain of a US Navy destroyer in World War Two, where his crew mutinies thinking their lives are in danger. Key members of the crew are then subject to a court martial.

The Imitation Game. As a Computer Science student that has mild autism, I was amazed by the film. The flashbacks showing Turing's childhood really captured the autism spirit.

The last movie I watched was weeks ago. It was Birdman. Pretty good, if you can sit through a movie that takes place from the viewpoint of an extreme narcissist. It reminded me of Hamlet. Yes, Hamlet. You heard me correctly.

if Hamlet was a middle aged guy with no parents but a daughter, and instead of being obsessed about his father's death and his father's murderer was instead obsessed about a play he was putting on...
The thing is, no genuine plot happens in Hamlet-instead of being mountains and valleys, the story is a straight line, and the same goes for Birdman.
Both are good.
Not sure if I explained all that correctly.

I have just watched Spirited Away, its an unusual but enjoyable movie.
I recently got the director's most recent film, The Wind Rises, on DVD from Netflix and I'm really looking forward to watching it. SA was my introduction to him, and I had no idea what to expect. If you liked it you should check out My Neighbor Totoro.

If you liked it you should check out My Neighbor Totoro.

If you're going to watch Totoro, please, for the love of Zeus, DON'T WATCH THE DISNEY VERSION. It's terrible. Use your favorite search engine and track down the original Streamline Pictures dub, which can be obtained via bittorrent.

Disney's other Studio Ghibli dubs were great, so I don't know why they failed so epically on that one, but they did.

"Crimson Tide"

An interesting story of the conflict of two opposing tactical points of view over the command of a US nuclear submarine on the brink of war.

A sort of "film opposite" of "The Bedford Incident".
