What was the last movie you watched?

If you're going to watch Totoro, please, for the love of Zeus, DON'T WATCH THE DISNEY VERSION. It's terrible. Use your favorite search engine and track down the original Streamline Pictures dub
I have heard the same. I tend to watch in the original Japanese with English subtitles, so I guess it doesn't matter quite as much to me, but yes, it's a shame the SP version is no longer available...I think a friend of mine might have it on VHS, so I might see if I can borrow it.

It was the last half of Rush. It was pretty good. You can't expect any less from a Ron Howard movie.

The last complete movie was Citizenfour, a must see for everyone. I was surprised how suspenseful it was. More shocking is that it's nonfiction.

"Argo"

Absorbing story of how the Canadian Ambassador to Iran let six American State Department employees take refuge in his home when Iranian militants stormed the US embassy in Tehran, 1979. And how the American CIA formulated an elaborate plan to successfully get them home.

"Mockingjay-Part One"

Katniss Everdeen reluctantly becomes an icon for District 13 resistance fighters who oppose the oppressive rule of Panem.

"King Rat"

Grim prisoner of war film, depicting survival which had nothing to do with rank.

Watched the original 'Old Boy'.

It was in Korean with German subtitles, after a whisky or two I seemed able to follow the plot nicely.

Cinderella

Excellent. What Disney tried to do with Maleficent and, in my opinion, failed miserably, they succeeded marvelously in doing here. I would even go so far as to say that the remake is an improvement on the original film in this case, fleshing out the plot and giving it a certain amount of depth that the original film lacked. Not to mention, it's simply a gorgeous film to look at and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets a few awards-season nods for costuming and production design.

Before the movie, there was a short film sequel to Frozen and, much to my surprise, the short was vastly better then the subpar-at-best film that preceded it. In my mind, that actually makes Frozen seem worse because if they were capable of doing something good with the material, why didn't they the first time?
