Yes, I think so .I cannot get it.Do you want the answer?
That makes sense. Had I thought of nought as a zero or circle shape, instead of nothing, and had my mind not kept shifting for some reason to typical rocks instead of gemstones, perhaps I could have guessed it by combining the diamond with some metal. Well done.OK, the answer is a ring, gold or silver, for your finger.
Looks like nought (zero) but may be valuable (e.g. gold)
Sounds like a noise (“ring”) but makes no sound, by itself.
Born in fire (rings made of precious metals - the metals are smelted)
The ring is a circle, so “without end”.
A diamond may be getting “close” - you can have a diamond on a ring. (Sorry, that one was a bit tricky.)
A ring “loaded” with gemstones can be worn (and carried) easily.
Rings must be fitted for size for each person.
You can look through a ring, but it is not transparent.
How annoying! I guessed ring at that clue, but was far too late catching up this morning. <sigh!> <double-sigh!>Another hint: you can look through me, but I am not transparent.
Yes, the homophone definitely focused my attention. Euros was a shorthand reference to people in the European sphere, more particularly that general time-zone. It’s difficult when we have people participating in three distinct and very disjoint zones. I’m always trying to be mindful of who may or may not have seen clues given their time of day.Well, particle or wave, that's one of the great questions! But leaving aside my own thoughts on the matter, you're close enough that it would be churlish of me not to give it to you (although being churlish can be almost as satisfying as schadenfreude!) Euros or not (some sort of sport thing I'm guessing?), although the actual answer was light, or more specifically, Quantum Electro Dynamics - so I did give the actual answer in the riddle!
I guess that fine man (though not so fine irl so it's said) gave the game away somewhat?
Ah, I see. Over 'ere in dear ol' Blighty, we as always is callin' a certain ball-of-the-foot (aka: sock-her) competition involving all the nations o' Europe "The Euro's", hence my sporting guess!Euros was a shorthand reference to people in the European sphere,
OK, we seem to have two threads here getting confused. I’ll put mine on hold until we sort out whose turn it is.No, it’s a real thing but not part of you.
Carbon Monoxide at 100 parts per million can be deadly. The detector will speak if either the CO gets in the device or if hit/push the button perhaps.I can’t see you, you can’t see me, even if I’m in front of you.
You can’t kill me but, if I fail, I may kill you.
I can’t hear you, and will only speak if I am struck.
My numbers are legion.
What am I?
@UberScout added one before the 'ring' was finished, so strictly speaking by the rules, they should have got one right first, but then who cares for rules if they don't make things better? But I ain't gunna judge either way!OK, we seem to have two threads here getting confused. I’ll put mine on hold until we sort out whose turn it is.
