  • I moved! Going back soon to rescue the old pump organ and the victrola but other than that GOODBYE FOREVER cityscape from Hades.
I must stay productive today. It's getting harder. My attention span is down to about 3 to 5 seconds.

It's the news that might save my attempt at college. Moving underneath an old house--ASAP. Just gotta finish midterms & pack my trunks

underneath as in basement? sounds nice and quiet.
Life is making me tired. I'm about this close to being done with the nonsense--Is there a fast-forward button?

I hate the inevitability of noise--after some homework probably taking a bit of a midnight drive to escape.

OMGOMGOMG!! I spend several years lighting the house with only oil lamps, even though we lived in an apartment. No internet, no tv. Knitting and sewing for fun, playing piano and reading. I miss it.

I have a real Victorian oil lamp in the shed, I bought it at an estate sale in Sutter Creek, Cal., up in the Gold Country. The house was originally a kit house, and it was very old, and had a lot of cool old stuff. I really should use it after I move.

Nobody can replace their cars due to the crazy shortages. I refuse to drive when the roads are crowded for that reason. A computer chip factory in Japan blew up apparently and now they're saying several YEARS until chips are available again. Yikes!
The noise from neighbors will probably drive me nuts. It's the inescapability of it, more than anything else.

    Ear plugs are your friend.

I've tried that and it doesn't work. Vibrations that go through the floor aren't really stopped by ear plugs. Upward mobility, a higher-paying job, and a realtor who deals in abandoned farmsteads in the wilderness are my real chance.
    I think I'm depressed.

@Markness Thanks friend; actually you & a few others helped by example.
If I don't get this stuff under control I'll end up disabled from it or dead. Thought I was going to die last summer. That isn't the plan. So time to see about fixing it.

I felt that way as well. Society really needs to take mental health more seriously.

I had to cut a staph infection out of my stomach with a match, a tin of black-salve, and the needle off the old windup victrola. This is why I'm worried that due to depression & lack of function I'm going to end up dead.
    Got to fix this, now.
Rode 9 miles on a 65-year-old British roadster bicycle at around midnight last night. Restoration is almost done.
Going waterboarding in Guantanamo Bay sounds like an awesome vacation if you don't know what that is. End legalized torture.

I read earlier today that the US spy thriller TV show "24", which was created to push the War on Terror, got so rah-rah about how wonderful, justified, and useful torture was that the commanders of West Point had to send a few guys to Los Angeles to get the producers to tone down the scripts.

Just think of how many taxpayer dollars could’ve gone to helping your fellow-Autistic Americans as opposed to supporting the oh, so successful War on Terror…
Went to the radio museum, studying repairs, white supremacists thought I was new recruit. Jackass.

I didn't say 9/11. I mean some group of "Concerned Citizens" meeting next week, and whatever they're doing, they're too chickenlivered to mention publicly. The guy clearly wasnt talking about honoring 9/11 victims, but some winger gathering next week.
How do I know he's a winger? He opened his mouth and admitted as much.
    Gerontius

Big difference between truly honoring those from 9/11 and waiting until a week after 9/11 to hold a half-secret gathering of people united by ignorance, hatred of "liberals", and that sort.

I didn't realize all of that was involved. I just heard "Patriots" and thought that it was a reference to "Patriot's Day."
"From far horizons of the unknown"NBC and Galaxy Science Fiction present-- X Minus One!"
And now The Inner Sanctum over WBCQ from Maine-- now it sounds like a sci-fi show is starting up. Old radios are FUN.

WBCQ can play some really cool stuff. The guy who founded it was originally a SW pirate broadcaster during the golden age of SW piracy in the mid/late 90s. For a while WBCQ had to play extreme conspiracy shows to pay the bills. The founder would personally sign off over the air back then.
