How do I get a degree?

I actually like in-person courses as long as the instructor is highly knowledgeable and the class size is small enough to allow for in-depth questions (and I'm interested in the topic). I've also done online, and enjoyed that as well. It was very project-oriented, which can be fulfilling.

    Baby voices

For children who are just learning to talk, the repetition is crucial for language acquisition. Sorry to be contrary, but it's true.

    Baby voices

Do you mean talking in baby voice to babies? It helps babies to know your are happy, and thus safe. If not, ppl use condescension as a way to dominate others. It is primarily used by humans who have shame issues, and subsequently see the world in a hierarchy. To compensate for their...

    Aspergers and Religion

Try asking yourself why you want to read it, and develop at least half a dozen reasons. They can't have to do with responsibility or it won't work (for most people). Then, identify your obstacles, and practice self-compassion for these obstacles. Then, process the sadness of the concept of...

    Numbers

I have a mixture of Aspie and OCD stuff. I only like odd numbers except for 2, 10, and 100. My father, son, and paternal grandmother have the same traits. OCD traits and autism are often comorbid. I have researched OCD extensively, and believe it is caused by unstable blood sugar...

Why I fear my wedding day will NEVER come

Wanting a girlfriend/wife is fine, but make sure you are filling up your life with other things that are important to you. Otherwise, you'll become obsessed with women - and that a turn-off. I'd connect with a good counselor to increase you resiliency.

What age were you when you started walking and what age for talking?

Mine too. The were quite useless except for piano lessons, board games, and punishment. I essentially raised myself with some help from my sister. I work very hard to find the healthy balance with my boys, but it's a challenge.

What age were you when you started walking and what age for talking?

I don't know about me, but my Aspie son started truly walking at 8 months, but wasn't really talking until maybe 16 months.

How do I get a degree?

Getting a degree basically just means you jumped through a million annoying hoops. So, I recommend just jumping them. Yeah, I know the feeling when your instructor has no idea what he/she is talking about. Super annoying. However, it's sadly not meant to be actually correct. It's meant to...

Engaged to someone with AS, feeling like I have to choose

Couples counseling with a therapist who has worked with ASD. I would interview at least 3, and be picky. This does not sound like something you can solve on your own, and will only get worse without some quality guidance.

    Fashion sense

I have always thought it was be cool to have a complete wardrobe of the exact same awesome outfit - like in cartoons. So I would instead just go through phases. I was super into fancy suits, and then super casual, but couldn't find the right thing. Then it happened. After years of analysis...

Panic on the streets of Melbourne...

Hmm. Is it more a fear of death or more a fear of responding to an attack?

Panic on the streets of Melbourne...

Did you fear judgment at the corner store? If so, it might be a sign that working on externalizing perceived judgment could be on your future. Helps me!:)

    I'm Crazy About Him

Hi Kim, As long as you are accepting of his HFA, it is less likely to be a problem. You might want to read a book on female Aspergers by Tony Atwood to learn more. If I were you, I would focus more on reversing the Borderline traits as they are more likely to cause a problem. I used to have...

    Would you consider yourself Random?

Lol, I used to have a party trick in High School where I would ask someone for 1 word, and then I would talk lighting fast on tangents to that word, and then tangents to those tangents without breaks. I hung out with some odd people, so it was appreciated...I think;). A big YES to my...

    Emotionally Confused

At first, I kinda panicked. Then, I briefly went through an arrogant phase ("Aspies are the best"). Now, I find it comforting, and have a nice sense of equivalency with NTs. I'm also pretty social, but am definitely an Aspie. Some traits are just stronger in certain individuals:).

    Misanthropy?

I have some of that, but used to have more. I discovered I was over-using introspection, generalized sadness, and interpretation to cope with my environment. I still use those, but now it's balanced with other emotional skills.

Are women with kids more attracted to masculine men?

I don't find risk-taking attractive at all; increases the chance if something terrible happening. When I met my husband, I was looking for someone physically risk averse. If I were single with kids, I would mainly just look for someone emotionally and cognitively stable.

Cancelled T.V. shows that screwed the fans over the worse ?

SO sad about Firefly being canceled. Glad they at least had the movie, but it was all so rushed.
