1938 Maserati 8CTF
Chassis 3032, also known as the Boyle Special, was originally a works car. In 1939 it raced at Indianapolis where it finished first. In 1940 it finished first again at Indianapolis; the following year it was forced to retire. It visited Indianapolis again in 1946, 1947, and 1949 where it finished 3rd, 4th, and DNF respectively.
Over the years,I attended the Detroit North American Auto Show and gathered many outstanding images. This the premier manufacturers show and often the first place where new models are shown publicly in the United States. The photo sessions are difficult as the show is always crowded and photo opportunities are few and far between without people obscuring the view, Often manufacturers will bring older cars to display and this is a fine example.
