It is a pity so few people can drive a manual now. the biggest sellers are Autos, but you can hire a manual for less.
In the US I'm not even sure you could rent a standard.From what I understand it definitely helps when it comes to rentals. eg lower rate
I much prefer standard myself, but as has been pointed out, unfortunately, the vast majority of vehicles in the States are automatic. And it's coming to where most young people don't even know HOW to drive stick-shift...pretty sad.I'm assuming this is the norm for America?? In the uk, automatics are seen as a lazy way to drive! I've driven both, and can see the appeal in both methods. But I'd hate to think I wouldn't know how to drive a manual!
Cool, that's on my retirement plans, visit Europe.I was meaning as a tourist Arrogant penguin, its not your fault. I herd of one person touring Europe and got an upgrade because he could drive a manual.
I built a '27 T bucket once for a buddy with a 427...it was scary to drive,but very funimagine this on the high way
