The original L208incoln Log 5C set with approximately 208 pieces was made
by Lincoln Logs, a division of Playskool Manufacturing Company.

I love Lincoln Logs. I used to play with them all the time as a young child. I don't anymore, but I used to. I still play with cars with my half brother and act like a child, but I had to get rid of the Lincoln Logs because they were to boring for me. I needed more complicated things to occupy my time.

The Ant and the Dove

AN ANT went to the bank of a river to quench its thirst, and
being carried away by the rush of the stream, was on the point of
drowning. A Dove sitting on a tree overhanging the water plucked
a leaf and let it fall into the stream close to her. The Ant
climbed onto it and floated in safety to the bank.

Shorty afterwards a bird-catcher came & stood under the tree, & laid
his lime-twigs for the Dove, which sat in the branches. The Ant,
perceiving his design, stung him in the foot. In pain the
bird-catcher threw down the twigs, & the noise made the Dove
take wing.

One good turn deserves another.

I think we should use logic here. We are starting to lose it. My sister said that she was happy to hear that I have an Aspie community where I meet people like me. Just for the record. Random post.

The Ass in the Lion's Skin

An Ass once found a Lion's skin which the hunters had left out
in the sun to dry. He put it on and went towards his native
village. All fled at his approach, both men and animals, and he
was a proud Ass that day. In his delight he lifted up his voice
and brayed, but then every one knew him, and his owner came up and
gave him a sound beating for the fright he had caused. And
shortly afterwards a Fox came up to him and said: "Ah, I knew you
by your voice."

Fine clothes may disguise, but
silly words will disclose a fool.

This is not a recent development, nor
is it mine alone. Many people have used
stories...aka anecdotes, fables, and proverbs
to illustrate concepts when addressing others.

It makes for a short break in the accumulation of
snappy one-liners, too.:)

Light travels faster than sound.
That is why some people appear smart until they open their mouth :)

(that's a two-liner)
