Riddles

Not on my part. I would need another clue to further guess, as not enough info to know what direction to go for the answer.

"What direction to go?"

Go straight through the sentence until you come to the word "and." Afterwards procede straight again.

This sounds like a car at a stop sign :). I have no idea. So, if I understand correctly, 'awake before sleep. Death before one exists.' I am wondering if the 2nd riddle line is important. That is why I am drawing a blank.

Is it something to do about reading the riddle line backwards as you said go straight after "and."
You did not say go forward.

Awake before sleep. Sleep before awake.
Death before one doth exist. Exists doth one before death?

Those sound like true statements for each.

If not, I give up I think. I ran out of ideas.
.

No, they are in the correct order. Really they are. But where oh where is this so? We have been there before on this thread you know. And no the last line is not that significant. It was just to rhyme.

Is this like that dictionary answer riddle where the word alphabetically comes before another word in the dictionary?

"Awake" before "sleep"
"Death" before "one"

Next riddle:

I want to speak for me not in one or two,
I cannot as the answer would show through.
I wish I could be myself and express from a third,
and be called not a demon, as that's absurd!
Mix me up for a mole, that too is unfair.
I am bigger than that, and I show more care.
I will live forever in many young hearts that glow
yet to one half and three I may only grow.

Who came up with the idea of writing riddles in rhyme? Was the purpose to make them more interesting or to deliberately create confusion?

Although it is common to rhyme riddles, it is not mandatory. It would be actually easier for me if I did not, but at times I and some others may like that flow better for riddles. Others may find it more confusing adding any unneeded words to make it rhyme. I try not to create many unnecessary words though.

Is the "mole" an animal, a spot of pigment, a spy, or a measurement?🤔

The answer to that question is only important if I were to say it is not a spy, meaning not bigger than a spy, but bigger than the other three. Otherwise, that clue is important in just another way unrelated to what specific mole I was referring to.

Answer: Elmo

Riddle explanation:

Elmo, a muppet from the widely known, long running and popular kids show Sesame Street, speaks from the third person point of view. For instance, he does not say the word I, but speaks using his own name Elmo. He is a red and furry monster that has never gotten past 3 and a half years old.

A children's song "Elmo's song" was named after him, and his own show was created for him too after he became very popular. The show was called "Elmo's World" that he starred in. If you unscramble the word mole, you get Elmo. That was that riddle line tip. And Elmo shows more outwardly care than a mole, and is bigger than such. Elmo is known for being friendly, positive and curious.
