What video game are you currently playing?

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, 400+ hours. I wish so much they would sell DLC maps.
I misread that at first and thought you had written 2400 hours and not 400. I actually have one game where I went over that, Fall 76. I put in around 2900 hours. And that was just in the first 2 years it was out. I stopped playing because I was spending too much time on it.

How did you make yourself stop playing? I tried but I cannot. What did you do?

Lately been playing Rival Stars Horse Racing on PC. I used to love games and played all the time, but these days I do it a lot less. Feels mostly like a waste of time/pointless to me now.

That being said I am getting back into livestreaming with an online friend of mine, and we plan on doing so once per week on fridays. So that means I'll be playing Dead by Daylight along with whatever other games we might feel up to. Probably between that, 7 Days to Die, theHunter: Call of the Wild, or The Outlast Trials.

STALKER 2 - Wooooo!!!!!!!
Phenomenal gritty dystopian Sci-Fi Ukrainian fantasy that takes the ever so atmospheric previous Stalker games and fixes all the issues while updating the rest to current standards. And it's supporting Ukraine too!

It's very slow to load on my aging kit, yet still plays very well at medium settings on my GTX 1080 card and i7-8700k cpu (so very much not top end to say the least!). Graphics are lush and the open world of The Zone with it's mad scientists, mutants, zombies, radiation, multiple human factions, abandoned labs and bunker complexes, not to mention anomalies and artifacts. If you like Fallout 4 type stuff but want it more real world in feel and setting, I'd strongly recommend looking into this one (or even playing it? 😊).
For me with my darker tastes not to mention near 15 year wait for this one, I'm in ecstasy!

I'm terrible at it, but it seems like a good one :D

I have been working my way through the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series and loving every second of it. Except for the billiards mini game.

STALKER 2 launched on November 20, 2024 on PC and Xbox to widespread praise. Despite some rough edges, we couldn't deny the sheer quality GSC Game World has managed to pour into STALKER 2 in our review. The atmosphere is absolutely off the scale, and unlike many of the corporate-feeling open world games of recent times.

Absolutely true.
If you luv dark brooding thunderstorms and a landscape of devestation, this game is something to look into.

It's flawed on a technical level, and has it's gameplay issues, but that can be patched and the overall feel, if that gritty, noir, sandbox environment is what appeals, it's probably in a class of it's own. But I'm biased, I loved the originals, flawed as they were too. It's a huge living breathing evolving world out there in The Zone!

I am downloading the second patch right now.
I believe they have increased the speed of running in the first one, and so they should have.
It was painful previously.

I will be starting a new game when the download finishes.

Ah, that could be the amount you're carrying. It has a big impact on your speed and stamina long before you reach the limits. The original versions I'd collect everything I could. In this version that tactic gets you killed (more). Any weapon marked as damaged with a red indicator can't be sold: unload and drop. Only keep those with a yellow indicator if damaged.

Does anyone else play Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2? About 450 hours playing and I found a new entrance to the train depot. I did not think there was anything left to discover. I hope there are more things I do not know about. I cannot fly the drone, it makes no sense to me, dies after about a minute. I do not understand the remote machine gun either. I thought it could watch my back for me and shoot but it seems I have to aim it.

Also, I have not been able to make the remote sensors work. I thought they would alert me with a sound but I am doing something wrong, they never tell me anything. Oh, and the gas grenades and frag grenades - when I throw them the enemy shouts grenade and they scatter, so how are they helpful? I have used them in chokepoints and they are better there.

Just finished Fallout New Vegas today, what a blast to replay it after so long :) I actually like most of the DLC more than the base game. Now, on to my first playthrough of Skyrim.

Never tried any DLC's but I thought New Vegas had the better storyline than Fallout 3 and 4.

Highly recommend the DLC, should you ever play the game again at some point :) And yes, while I really enjoy Fallout 4's gameplay, Vegas's writing all the way.

Or at least I will be playing it. Hopefully.

#1 thing on Steam right now, by far. I wouldnt be surprised to hear that it's #1 on the Xbox right now as well. It's like Diablo 4 if it was made by a company that, you know, actually cares. But the game servers are getting murdered by 5 squillion people trying to log in all at once over and over again.

I never really got to play the original game because it had no controller support, and I cant really use a mouse for gaming (not action gaming anyway, stuff like turn-based games is fine) because it wrecks my arm.

This one's got controller support built in from the start though. Among other good things.

I looked this up.

The remote turret (gun) can aim and fire at stuff, but it specifically fires at things only if they have been tagged by the drone.

The idea is that you set the turret up somewhere, and you can hide safely somewhere and use the drone to get the turret to lock onto targets and shoot them. The enemy of course can attack the drone or the turret, but when they're doing that, they arent shooting you.

It seems like it's very much a tactical weapon, not meant to be used directly.

Generally if you see something in a game at all referred to as a "turret", or if it looks like one, it's gonna be powerful but situational and hard to use.

Oh, and the gas grenades and frag grenades - when I throw them the enemy shouts grenade and they scatter, so how are they helpful?

Enemies that are running around like "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH" are not currently shooting at you and are now displaced from whatever possibly advantageous position they were originally in.

Obviously it's best if you can get the blast to hit them, but you cant count on that. Grenades in shooters are hard to use for good reason.
